Can you believe its Christmas Time Again! Being lovers of all things Christmas, we have been getting into the spirit this week by making this lovely Christmas Decoration. This project is great for beginners and experienced mosaicists alike.
Step 1: Select Your Base
We have used a Ho Ho Ho MDF Base.
Step 2: Tile Your Base
'Flat tumbled glass pieces' have been used as the tiles. Depending upon the look you are after you could use any mirror tiles. To adhere your tiles you can use any clear drying PVA adhesive, including Weldbond.
If you are using Flat Tumbled Glass Pieces you will have to trim them up a bit with a pair of wheeled nippers, as some edges may be missing some silver due to the tumbling process.
Step 3: Grouting
Black grout has been used to grout the face of the mosaic. If you are a beginner and not sure of the grouting process, click here to go to the Beginners Guide to Grouting.
Step 4: Painting
The sides and back of the MDF base have been painted with black paint. You will need a black paint brush to get into the intricate bits.
